Pricing

What affects the cost

We do not publish fixed prices, because guessing at a number before seeing the job helps nobody. Here is what actually drives it.

  • Distance from the switchboard to the unit and cable route access
  • Whether the switchboard has a spare way, or needs upgrading
  • Single or three phase supply
  • Number of units being connected
  • Whether the run can be concealed or must be surface mounted

You get a quote first. We will talk through what the job involves and what it costs before we start, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

Questions

Air Conditioning FAQs

Straight answers to what people ask us most about this service.

Do you supply and install the air conditioner itself?

We're the electrical contractor for the electrical side of an air conditioning installation — the circuit, isolator, power supply and connection. Handling refrigerant requires a separate ARCtick licence from the Australian Refrigeration Council, so refrigeration work is carried out by a licensed air conditioning installer. We regularly work alongside installers to get both halves done.

Does an air conditioner need its own circuit?

In most cases yes — air conditioning is generally run on a dedicated circuit sized for the unit, with its own protection and an isolator. We'll confirm what your specific unit requires against your existing switchboard.

My air conditioner keeps tripping the switchboard. Can you help?

Yes. Repeated tripping usually points to a supply, circuit or protection issue, which is electrical work. We'll fault find the electrical side and tell you plainly if the problem turns out to sit with the unit itself.
