Electrical Fault Finding Melbourne

Intermittent electrical faults are the ones that get guessed at and never actually fixed. We isolate the fault systematically — circuit by circuit — so you get a diagnosis and a repair rather than a replaced part and a hopeful shrug.

Pricing

What affects the cost

We do not publish fixed prices, because guessing at a number before seeing the job helps nobody. Here is what actually drives it.

  • How long the fault takes to isolate
  • How many circuits and fittings need testing
  • Accessibility of the wiring — roof space, subfloor, concealed runs
  • Whether the repair can be completed on the same visit
  • Parts required for the repair

You get a quote first. We will talk through what the job involves and what it costs before we start, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

Questions

Fault Finding & Repairs FAQs

Straight answers to what people ask us most about this service.

How do you charge for fault finding?

Fault finding is time-based because the cause isn't known until it's traced. We'll explain how we charge before we start, and once the fault is located we'll tell you what the repair involves before doing it.

Can you find a fault without pulling my house apart?

In almost all cases, yes. Faults are isolated by testing circuits at the switchboard and working outward, so access is targeted rather than exploratory.

My safety switch trips only sometimes. Is that still worth investigating?

Yes — an intermittent trip is still a real fault, often moisture ingress or a deteriorating appliance or cable. It generally gets worse, not better.
